There is a saying in photography that the best camera is the one that you have with you!\u00a0 I had never really thought about this before.\u00a0 I have often personally felt that I had wished I had one of my other cameras on me, rather than the one I had.\u00a0 However, on the following occasion I made the right choice, for many reasons.<\/p>\n

The camera in question is in fact attached to my 1+ phone which I would normally have on my person anyway.\u00a0 On this occasion I chose to record some images for my own personal use and also to capture a flavour of the day for this blog post.\u00a0 The camera, when set to 4:3 aspect ratio, will record a 13.0 megapixel picture at high quality.\u00a0 The camera itself has multiple very useful features which, in time, I may well learn to use.\u00a0 I have a rather simple approach to using this camera at the moment because it records not only in the standard JPEG file format, but it also records RAW images.\u00a0 The RAW images on this phone are captured as DNGs, which is a standard format so they can be opened in ACR as well as other programmes such as Iridient Developer.<\/p>\n

My personal caveat when using this phone, knowing that I suffer from handshake, is to make sure that I am able to either rest the phone on something, which has repercussions for my composition of images, or that I need to carry with me, and use, a small tripod with my phone clamp attached to alleviate not only camera shake, but also to ensure some flexibility with my compositions.<\/p>\n
